FARM NEWS COVERAGE APPRECIATED!
I am writing this letter on behalf of the area UW Extension Agriculture Agents, Steve Huntzicker, Tim Rehbein and myself to express our appreciation to WCOW radio for having farm news with a local component as part of its programming.
UW Extension's mission is to extend the knowledge and resources of the University of Wisconsin to people where they live and work. We provide the agricultural community with unbiased research based information to help them make well informed decisions for their agricultural enterprises.
Brian Winnekins does an outstanding job of promoting UW Extension events and activities. His efforts have been invaluable to the success of our workshops and field days with our ever tightening budgets. We have received many positive comments about Brian's coverage of and advertising of our events. Brian described part of his job as being an "Extension of Extension" when visiting with our chancellor, and we agree. Our educational outreach would not be as successful as it is without Brian's help.
A recent example of the value of the local component to the farm news on WCOW is how Brian worked with Tim Rehbein and me to get very timely information out to farmers during the flooding this past summer. We were able to quickly and efficiently get information out to farmers on dealing with manure, feed and crop concerns via radio interviews.
We look forward to working with Brian in continuing to meet the needs of our local agricultural communities and appreciate your support in this endeavor. -- Bill Halfman - UW Extension Agricultural Agent - Monroe County

Hello, I am Kenny Weatherly, I live in Richmond, Indiana. Its about 85 miles from Indianapolis. I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your station. I was in Sparta visiting family and friends on vacation when I found your great station on the radio. I listened to it the entire time I was there. It's awesome. It was one great song after another. I could really tell that the DJs really take pride in their jobs. I liked the fact that there was not a lot of commercials. I enjoyed your station so much I thought I would write an e-mail and let you all know what a great job you're doing. Putting together a great staff and a great variety of music must have taken a long time and a lot of hard work, which should be recognized.
