Bangor Child Development Day

Feb 23, 2018

Bangor area parents will have an opportunity to learn more about child development - what's normal and what's not.  In addition, parents of 4K eligible students in the Fall of 2018 will be able to register students for the upcoming school year.

The free event will offer appointments from 8am-2pm while 4K registration will take place between 8am-Noon in the Bangor Elementary School gymnasium.  If included in the district census, parents should receive information by mail at the end of January.

The event is designed for children ages 3 and 4 who live in the Bangor Area School District and their parents.  Children will participate in a play-based developmental screening and parents can learn about community and county services available to families and young children.

Informational handouts will be distributed and parents may speak with representatives of the school district and local agencies serving families.  Parents and children will receive gifts.  Refreshments will be offered.

The opportunity for parents to learn from their children's screening at a young age is very valuable.  Potential developmental delays can be caught and appropriate interventions begun.  This allows a greater chance of success in helping the child before they enter school.

All parents are encouraged to bring their 3 and 4-year-olds to the events.  Please call Bangor Elementary School at 486-5205 to confirm your inclusion in the district census and to schedule an appointment.
