Area Community Theatre directors Barb Sullivan and Rocky Shutter have scheduled Monday, February 24 and Tuesday, February 25 from 5:30-7:30 P.M. as audition dates for ACT’s next comedy production, The Queen of Bingo by Jeanne Michels and Phyllis Murphy. Set at Bingo night in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek, Michigan, The Queen of Bingo features Babe and Sis, two sisters on the other side of 50, dishing the dirt, giggling like school girls, and each sharing a secret. The audience meets Father Mac, Coach Anderson, and the bingo regulars through their eyes.
Parts are available for 2 women and 2 men.
Sis, the older sister, a put–together 55+ widow.
Babe, the younger sister, 52, has weight issues.
Father Francis McKenzie Muldoon, the assistant pastor at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek, Michigan. Fr. Mac grew up in Ireland, and is charming.
Caller, one of those small town “ladies man” types who think every woman in the Bingo hall is really there just to see him or more importantly to “hear” him.
People wishing to audition should come to the Area Community Theatre commons room on the second floor of 907 Kilbourn in Tomah. Signs will be posted. Plan to read from a script. Knowledge of Bingo traditions is not required. For more information call Barb Sullivan at 372-6608.
