Tomah area residents can help supply blood for hospital patients and support area nonprofit organizations during a special two-day blood drive Oct. 23 & 24. BloodCenter of Wisconsin has teamed up with State Farm Holthaus Insurance and Financial Services of Tomah, along with Tomah Memorial Hospital and Tomah High School for the promotion billed as State Farm’s ‘Give Red, Earn Green’ Blood Drive. Current and new donors can give blood Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Tomah Senior High School, or Oct. 24 from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Tomah Memorial Hospital. Donors can cast a vote for their favorite area nonprofit organization. At the end of the two-day drive, the nonprofit organization with the most votes will receive a $600 donation from State Farm - Holthaus Insurance & Financial Services of Tomah. The nonprofit group with the second highest vote will receive a $300 donation, while the third place group will get $100. Donors interested in taking part in the drive at the Tomah High School can reserve a time online at www.bcw.edu/GiveRed. Residents wanting to donate blood at Tomah Memorial can register online at www.bcw.edu/EarnGreen or can call (608) 374 – 6605. Walk-ins are also welcome at either location. It is the second year the organizations have partnered for the special two-day blood drive. BloodCenter of Wisconsin is the sole provider of blood to Tomah Memorial Hospital.
