The Tomah Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center will team up with tribal and state representatives at the Ho-Chunk Veterans Benefits Fair on July 16, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., in the Ho-Chunk Nation Tribal Office Building atrium in Black River Falls, Wis.
All Veterans and the public are invited to visit the tribal office atrium to learn about the numerous benefits available to Veterans through the VA, state, county, Ho-Chunk Nation, and other organizations and programs. Staff will also be available to enroll eligible Veterans for care.
"This is a terrific way for Veterans, including Ho-Chunk Veterans, to learn more about the benefits they have earned by serving our nation," said Sandy Winneshiek, the Ho-Chunk Tribal Veteran Service Officer and Veterans Benefits Fair organizer. "We want people to come out and even if you are not a Veteran, you can learn about the benefits available to the Veteran in your life."
There will be over 20 booths with information including: Registration, enrollment and eligibility, homeless veterans initiative, mental health services, outreach and health promotion, women's health services, minority veterans services, WDVA home loan and job program, OEF/OIF program, state benefit programs, and much more. County Veteran Service Officers and Vet Center staff will be available at the event.
