Outdoor Recreation Alliance will be doing trail maintenance at Hixon. As you know, the trails are a great place to go. However, they need work from time to time. We need YOUR HELP. We are organizing two trail maintenance sessions each month to repair and improve the trails in Hixon. Hixon trail maintenance is all done by volunteers, with equipment provided by the city. This is also a good activity for groups of trail users or families to engage in. If you apply the 10% rule for every 20 hours you spend using the trails you should give back 2 hours volunteering to help maintain the trails.
We are focusing on the narrower running and hiking trails early in the summer and then the wider ski trails in the fall.
Work sessions will be from 5:30-7:30 pm on the following Wednesdays. Meet at the Hixon parking lot. Wear long pants, boots, a hat, and bring work gloves. Water and bug repellant are also a good idea. If you are bringing a large group please RSVP to Scott Cooper (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we are sure to have enough equipment on hand.
